Free IMEI check

Check an IMEI is real before you buy or sell a phone. Dial *#06# on the phone to find it.

Spaces and dashes are fine. Nothing you type here is stored, and this page has no link to share.

What this free check doesn't tell you

A valid IMEI is where a check starts, not where it ends. These four come from carrier and insurer databases we can't read for free.

Lost or stolenNot checked
Whether a carrier or police force has blacklisted this IMEI, in Canada or abroad.
Carrier lockNot checked
Whether the phone is tied to one carrier's SIM.
iCloud lockNot checked
Whether Find My is still on under someone else's Apple ID (Activation Lock).
Unpaid financeNot checked
Whether a carrier or lender still has a balance owing on the phone.
Paid

Blacklist, carrier lock and the brand's own lock, checked for one IMEI. Pay once, see the report here and by email.

Questions

Where do I find my IMEI?

Dial *#06# on the phone and it appears on screen. It's also in Settings › General › About on an iPhone, Settings › About phone on Android, on the SIM tray, and on the box.

Is my IMEI safe to share here?

We don't store the IMEIs typed into the free check. The result is shown on your screen and nowhere else, and there's no link to it.

Why does my phone show two IMEIs?

Phones with an eSIM, or two SIM slots, have one IMEI per line. Check either one; both belong to the same phone.
