Orders and payment

When is my card charged?

Your card is authorized at checkout and charged only when the seller confirms your order. If a seller cannot fill it, the hold is released.

At checkout: a hold, not a charge

When you pay, your card is authorized for the amount of each seller's order. Your bank may show it as a pending amount, but nothing has been charged yet.

When the seller confirms: the charge

Each seller confirms its order within the time shown on your order page. When it confirms, the hold becomes a charge and the seller prepares your shipment.

If a seller cannot fill it

If the seller declines, or does not answer within its window, the hold is released and you are never charged for that order. Your order page shows the status either way.

A cart with items from several sellers becomes one order per seller, so you may see one hold per seller. They add up to the total you saw at checkout.
